I-Co, Your Business Partner
Fund raising for Projects
For more than 10 years, I have worked on both sides of investment decisions, reviewing projects, challenging assumptions, structuring transactions, and participating in approval and closing processes.
I-Co was created to bring this inside-fund perspective to founders preparing institutional capital and work on what must be true for capital to be approved. Because fundraising is almost always a structuring and readiness issue, we use our expertise to make you save months on the approval process.
What Typically Blocks a Fundraising ?
In practice, a fundraising fails when the project reach investors too early or poorly prepared.
The most common blockers we observe are:
- an investment thesis that cannot be defended internally by a fund investment team,
- misalignment between strategy, governance and economics,
- valuation expectations disconnected from risk and execution reality,
- unclear decision-making and control mechanisms,
- exposure to investors before risks are properly framed and mitigated.
These weaknesses are often invisible to founders.
They are immediately identified at investment committee level.
What I-Co actually does ?
I-Co intervenes before and during investor exposure to anticipate and eliminate these blockers.
Concretely, our work consists of:
- analysing the project as an investment committee would,
- stress-testing the investment logic, governance and downside scenarios,
- identifying non-negotiable investor constraints and fiduciary obligations,
- correcting structural issues before they become deal-killers,
- determining which investors are compatible and which are not.
We do not help projects become defensible and approvable.
How the I-Co approach is implemented ?
To deliver this level of rigor, I-Co operates through a progressive advisory pathway in fundraising support.
Each mandate is:
- selective (not all projects are accepted),
- limited in number (to preserve depth of analysis),
- delivered personally.
Every collaboration begins with the same entry point: I-Co Insight.
The I-Co Path, in 4 concrete packages
Each step corresponds to a precise phase of the investment process.
Insight, the investment readiness diagnostic
A structured review of the project against institutional criteria, identifying readiness gaps, critical risks and approval blockers.
Genesis, the institutional structuring
Includes a site visit to work on governance, capitalization, positioning and decision frameworks to meet fund and LP expectations.
Orbit, the drafting of investment materials & valuation
Alignment of narrative, numbers and valuation logic to withstand committee scrutiny.
Negotium, the negotiation & closing dynamics
Support during negotiations, term-sheet analysis and coordination through signing and closing, alongside legal counsel.
Not all founders progress through every step.
Selectivity is intentional to protect founders and to ensure our investor partners engage only with credible opportunities.
Test Your Compatibility with Institutional Capital
Before approaching investors, founders must answer a simple question:
Would an investment committee approve this project today?
The I-Co Insight session is designed to answer that question clearly.
It includes a report generated thanks to the
I-Co’s proprietary simulator, built around real investment committee criteria and decision logic. No promotion, no assumptions.
Just a disciplined assessment of readiness.

Independent Director
The strength from Within
As companies prepare to raise capital, their governance becomes part of the due-diligence narrative. Not an annex, a signal.
To strengthen this signal from the inside, I-Co can act as a certified independent director, trained through the Women Board Ready – Advanced Certificate delivered jointly by ESSEC Business School (Viviane de Beaufort) and Université Centrale – Honoris Tunisia.
This double certification reflects an international standard of governance, diverse, trained, independent, exactly what institutional investors now expect.
A discreet but decisive addition
This service allows I-Co to reinforce governance before the fundraising, ensuring:
- a board aligned with international standards,
- a deeper fund raising strategy,
- a reduced governance risk,
- an increased investor trust, and
- a leadership structure already prepared for due diligence.
A long-term advantage for future rounds
After the initial raise, an independent, certified director strengthens:
- credibility for Series A/B and follow-on rounds,
- continuity of governance,
- fluid interaction with investment committees,
- and the professionalisation expected by later-stage funds.
This is not an external intervention. It is a presence inside the company, calm, neutral, and built to meet the standards investors recognise.
A service reserved for founders who want to scale with discipline and who understand that governance is not an obligation but a competitive advantage.
